Thousands and thousands of years ago the Neanderthals would wear fur coats to themselves warm, not for fashion
as it is done today. Humans would kill the animals such as beaver, wolf, mink, fox, etc. wearing a fur coat was the
symbol of richness, such as a sign or royalty or high ranking men. Today thankfully there is fur that is called
faux or fake fur.
Mens faux fur coats are not seen so much today, but they are around. You will see them mainly in large cities
such as New York or even San Francisco. The Rolling Stones always wore faux fur coats and that is when they became
popular among men. The most flattering style of mens faux fur coats are either knee length or full length, going
all the way down to the ankles. Of course the longer it is, the warmer you will be.
The material made for mens faux fur coats varies. If a man is small boned or has a large frame sable and mink
would be a good choice for them. Fashion people will tell you when choosing a faux fax coat chose one that is close
to your natural hair color. It really flatters the face and will look good on you. Back in the roaring twenties men
wore full length furs made of chinchilla and even today you will see it around.
Very well liked mens faux fur coats are the bomber jackets. They are usually about twenty eight inches in length
and have a front zipper and side pockets that are almost hidden. Some are made of faux sable or fox. Some men like
to wear coats that are made of faux fur animal prints, such as leopard.
Back in the seventies and eighties you would see men wear faux fur made of leopard, they were usually hip
length, maAmazing vintage 1960s leopard faux fur tent style car coat. One style that was seen was the trapeze
style; it had a wide collar, raglan sleeves, and two large buttons. They were fully lined and these were great for
spring and warm winter days.
Mens faux fur coats are worn a lot in the colder climates such as Canada and a few European countries. Men dress
for warmth most of the time in these regions, but like to look good as well. Parkas are very well liked, because
they also have hoods that have fur collars. Think of the men up in the Antarctica. All you see is there faces, and
sometimes not even that.
No matter what style or material mens faux fur coats one might choose, they are warm and will last a life time
if properly taken care of. Cleaning it is a snap as it will keep it looking great. Keep it dry above all; there are
products out there that will clean the faux fur with out harming it. Never put it in the washing machine, you will
have mess of junk when you pull it out.
